The Mehlville-Okaville United Committee is hosting a community information night Feb. 27 about Proposition E, a 31-cent tax-rate increase that would fund salary increases for teachers and other staff in the Mehlville School District.
The community information night is 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 27 at Andre’s Banquet Center, 4254 Telegraph Road. Mehlville Superintendent Chris Gaines and Board of Education President Peggy Hassler will be in attendance.
Prop E will be on the April 4 ballot and will ask voters in the school district to consider an operating levy increase of 31 cents per $100 of assessed valuation. The increase would be used for competitive salaries for teachers as well as support staff, which includes bus drivers, custodians, cooks, nurses, front office staff and more.
