Mehlville golf rebuilds after COVID

Mehlville golf was a victim of COVID last season, allowing the team to only participate in four matches before the season was suspended.

Head coach Alyssa Stock said the shortened season might affect the golfers this season, as it halted opportunities to gain experience.

“A lot of our players are very new to the game and with our season being cut short last year it took off time (from training),” Stock said.

The team has nine total golfers, including three seniors. Stock said she expects seniors Zoey Spain and Alice Rose to step up into leadership roles as the season progresses.

She said despite the lack of experience among the team, she sees motivation and determination every day at practice.

The Panthers first match is Aug. 30 against Lindbergh and Fox High Schools.
