Mehlville Fire Protection District seeks bids for sale of former No. 3 Firehouse in Sunset Hills

MFPD officials seek to sell site of old No. 4 Firehouse

By Staff Report

The Mehlville Fire Protection District is seeking bids for the sale of its former No. 3 Firehouse at 11625 Sappington Barracks Road in Sunset Hills.

A new No. 3 Firehouse was completed earlier this year at 4811 S. Lindbergh Blvd., about 1,000 feet to the east.

Sealed bids for the sale of the property, including the one-story former firehouse, will be accepted by the district until 2 p.m. Friday, July 13. The property is being sold “as is.” Bids will be opened when the Board of Directors meets at 5 p.m. Wednesday, July 18.

Mehlville firefighters moved into the 8,000-square-foot, three-bay new No. 3 Firehouse in mid-April, and an open house was conducted April 28.

The new firehouse is similar in design to the district’s No. 2 and No. 4 firehouses, but also includes a training tower and a walkout basement.

The No. 2 Firehouse at 5434 Telegraph Road was completed in 2009 and the No. 4 Firehouse at 13117 Tesson Ferry Road was finished early last year.

District officials also are selling the site of the former No. 4 Firehouse at 13106 Tesson Ferry Road. The minimum asking price is $297,000.
