Mehlville School District Chief Financial Officer Noel Knobloch will retire at the end of the current school year.

Knobloch has been the district’s CFO for five years.

“I had retired early from a job before I came here,” Knobloch told the Call. “So this was kind of a second career and when I was hired five years ago, I basically indicated at that time I would like to limit it to five years.”

Knobloch said he does not have any immediate plans after retirement, but he will remain in the area.

“I will be available to help my successor to make the transition as smooth as possible,” Knobloch said.

As Mehlville CFO, Knobloch is responsible for the overall financial operations of the district, including development and maintenance of the annual budget and long-range financial projections.

Board of Education President Venki Palamand told the Call Knobloch has done a phenomenal job as the district’s CFO the past five years.

“He’s been a phenomenal CEO. He has saved us hundreds of thousands of dollars on new copier contracts and by changing insurance consultants,” he said.

Superintendent Eric Knost told the Call Knobloch’s retirement is a significant loss for his cabinet, himself and the entire school district and community.

Knost said Knobloch’s position will be posted online within the next week and a half.

Before coming to the Mehlville School District, Knobloch led Amerinet’s financial operations, where he oversaw accounting, collections, compliance, payroll and reporting.

Before his tenure with Amerinet, Knobloch served as controller of the HBE Corp., a major hospital design and construction company.

He also spent 10 years in public accounting with Price Waterhouse before moving to a position in the private sector.

Knobloch is a graduate of the University of Illinois and a certified public accountant.
