The Mehlville Board of Education approved and accepted the election of Ann Zimpfer and Serene Wilkinson, each to a three-year term on the Mehlville School District Board of Education, at its April 10 meeting.
Before Zimpfer and Wilkinson took the oath of office, however, Scott Huegerich was recognized for serving as a board director for the past three years. The board highlighted Huegerich’s accomplishments over the past three years and each member said a few parting words.
“I want to congratulate you on three amazing years,” Tori Behlke, Mehlville Board of Education vice president, said. “You’ve been involved in our district in one capacity or another for a really long time, and then (you) were willing to step up in a much greater role to serve this district and this community on the Board of Education for three years. It’s pretty spectacular to do what you do as a volunteer to this district, on top of being a successful business owner, a husband, a father and a grandfather. (To) find the time to serve and be a servant leader to our community, to our students, to our teachers, to our entire district – you should be recognized for that.”

Huegerich, along with former board director Grace Wright – who was recognized in February for her time serving on the board – were presented with items made by students from each high school in the district. Mehlville High School geometry in construction students made both of the outgoing board members a clock, and Oakville High School woodworking students made them each an end table.
Neither Huegerich nor Wright sought reelection.
Following the recognition of Huegerich, Zimpfer and Wilkinson were sworn in.
The board then elected officers. Peggy Hassler will continue as board president, Tori Behlke will continue as vice president, Marshall Crutcher will continue as treasurer and Jeff Wolman will take over as secretary.
The officers will serve in their positions until April 2026.
