Mehlville board votes to re-employ classified directors for 2011-2012

The Mehlville Board of Education recently voted to re-employ classified directors, assistant directors, coordinators and supervisors for the 2011-2012 school year.

Board members voted unanimously in closed session to re-employ staff at their 2010-2011 salary levels. Officials have said there likely will be no pay increases next year as part of a roughly $4 million budget reduction plan approved recently by the school board.

The board voted 6-0 April 13 — before the swearing in of three new board members — to re-employ:

• Noel Knobloch, chief financial officer, who will be paid $123,033.50.

• Lisa Furey, director of accounting, who will be paid $69,010.

• Steve Habeck, director of facilities, who will be paid $85,000.

• John Tucker, assistant director of facilities, who will be paid $56,689.14.

• Michael Gegg, mechanical supervisor, who will be paid $54,071.91.

• Katie Koester, director of school food and nutrition services, who will be paid $62,830.

• Mary Ann McKinney, coordinator of school food and nutrition services, who will be paid $52,783.

• Joseph Huster, fleet maintenance supervisor, who will be paid $49,131.

• Steven Lee, director of information technology services, who will be paid $103,838.80.

• Steven Meyer, assistant director of information technology services, who will be paid $60,949.22.

• Robin Anderson, communications coordinator, who will be paid $43,054.

• Susan Bland, lead nurse, who will be paid $46,154.30.

The board voted 6-0 to re-employ Allan Schindler as executive director-SSLCMS for 2011-2012 based on a work schedule of 550 hours — 0.4 time — at a salary of $46,350.

Board members also voted unanimously to extend a one-year contract to Mike Peiffer for the position of transportation manager at a salary of $53,000.

In addition, the board voted 6-0 to re-employ Denise Swanger as Mehlville Senior High School principal for 2011-2012. She will be paid $115,000.
