Mehlville board to hire interim superintendent for 2014-2015 school year

The Mehlville Board of Education has begun the process to find a successor to Superintendent Eric Knost, who is leaving July 1 to become the Rockwood School District superintendent.

Due to the timing of this announcement, the board plans to hire an interim superintendent for the 2014-2015 school year, according to a district news release. Qualified individuals currently working in the Mehlville School District and external candidates will be interviewed for the position, with a hiring decision deadline targeted for the May 22 board meeting.

In the fall of 2014, a comprehensive search will take place to find the new superintendent for the Mehlville School District. When a group of finalists is identified by the board, the interview process will include staff and community members, the release stated. A final hiring decision is expected by the end of December.

The new superintendent would begin on July 1, 2015.

Updates on the superintendent hiring process can be found on the Mehlville School District website at
