Lindbergh High School freshmen Mackenzie Hempe and Andrea Muhlbauer have been selected to dance with the Mos-cow Ballet in the “Great Russian Nutcracker.”
They will perform at 8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 30, at the Blanche M. Touhill Performing Arts Center at the University of Missouri-St. Louis.
“Dancing with the Moscow Ballet requires hard work and dedication on the part of the children, the local dance coordinator and parents,” Mary Talmi, Moscow Ballet’s co-producer, stated in a news release.
“The children are selected by a teacher from the Moscow Ballet at an audition. They then rehearse for up to eight weeks prior to the show with the local dance studio. It is very exciting, and the children have to remain focused and professional,” Talmi added.
