Lindbergh High School alum Will Scherer finished second in his weight class in the 2026 U20 Greco-Roman U.S. Open, held April 22-26 at The Expo at World Market Center Las Vegas. This has earned him a spot on the United States Men’s U20 National Team.

Scherer will now represent Team USA for the first time at the Pan-American Championships in Rio de Janeiro this July. He will be competing at 77 kg against some of the top U20 wrestlers in the world. 

The Lindbergh athletics department, nor Scherer, could not be reached for comment as of The Call’s press time.
