The National Merit Scholarship Corporation announced two Lindbergh High School students have been named Commended Students in the 2022 National Merit Scholarship Program.

Commended Students are recognized for exceptional academic promise demonstrated by their outstanding performance on the qualifying test used for program entry.

Seniors Thomas Heisner, above left, and Mitchell Oldham, right, are among 34,000 students nationwide who have been named Commended Students this year.

“We could not be more proud of these two outstanding students,” LHS Principal Eric Cochran said. “Thomas and Mitch have shown tremendous dedication to their studies and this accomplishment highlights all of their hard work.”

The National Merit Scholarship Corporation has recognized 50,000 students this year for their exceptional academic performance. Commended Students placed among the top of more than 1.5 million students who took the 2020 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
