Lindbergh High School is hosting the 15th annual Sunday Night Lights this weekend. The event pairs children facing life-altering illnesses, such as cancer, with students from the football team, marching band, cheerleaders and dance team. The children, called “Heroes,” will participate in activities like playing flag football, joining the band, cheering or dancing on the field.
The event will take place at 5:15 p.m. Oct. 13 at the LHS football stadium, 5000 Lindbergh Blvd.
Supported by volunteers from the school and community, Sunday Night Lights includes carnival games for the Heroes, meals for the Heroes and their families, concessions for attendees and opportunities for attendees to be part of the experience. The event is free to attend, and the public is encouraged to come out and show their support for the children and their families.
Volunteers are still needed, and those interested can sign up at www.snlheroes.org.
