The Lindbergh Flyers girls golf program has been one of the area’s most consistent winners in recent years, and head coach Mike Tyler believes his 2025 squad has the talent, leadership and hunger to continue that success.
After a historic 39–2 record over the past four years, including back-to-back undefeated seasons, the Flyers are aiming even higher this fall.
“Judging from the level of play, most of the team from last year has been practicing during the offseason,” Tyler said.
Much of the summer focus was on intentional training, especially on the short game.
“We wanted to hit the range with a specific purpose in mind, not just driving balls at the fence. I encouraged them to work on areas of weakness and really sharpen the short game,” Tyler explained.
While the Flyers did not compete as a team in camps or tournaments this summer, many players participated individually, and several helped run junior camps, further developing their skills while mentoring younger golfers.
The Flyers return a strong core of experienced varsity players, led by junior Madison Keating, a state qualifier last season.
Senior leaders Caroline Dull, Sydney Murphy and Emily Ellison are expected to provide steady performances throughout the season. Keating and Dull, along with seniors Maddi Brannan and Delaney Orlando, will serve as team captains.
The Flyers also have several underclassmen ready to step into key roles. Sophomores Lily McDermott and Ava Wollenberg have shown tremendous growth, giving Tyler confidence that the younger group will continue to elevate the team’s future.
With such a strong recent track record, expectations remain high at Lindbergh. The Flyers believe a top-two finish at Districts is within reach, and Tyler expects his team to again be in contention for postseason success.
“We have some very talented younger players who will be with us for a few years, so I’m looking forward to improving each year and moving those younger players up into leadership roles,” he said.
