The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s office issued charges Jan. 13 against a Lemay man for stealing a motor vehicle.
According to police, Michael Sale, 39, of the 200 block of East Velma Avenue, was charged with one count of stealing a motor vehicle. He is being held on a 300,000 cash-only, no-10% bond.
A probable cause statement alleges that on Dec. 24, the victim reported her motorcycle stolen from River City Casino. Surveillance footage showed the defendant circling the bike and taking photos of it. An hour later, the individuals are seen pulling up next to the bike in a silver truck. An individual in a black ski mask is seen attaching tow straps to the bike and towing it away.
The truck is registered to a known associate of the defendant, who is well-known to area law enforcement. The defendant was arrested and admitted to being the driver of the silver truck.
