Lutheran High School South senior Courtney Lauer will attend DePauw University in Indiana this fall after earning a full-tuition academic Rector Scholarship.
She was named the class valedictorian with a 4.0 grade-point average, according to a news release. She also was selected as the school’s Post-Dispatch Scholar Athlete and was the recipient of the LHSS Jack Faszholz Award, which is presented to the outstanding senior female athlete.
Lauer will play basketball for the DePauw Lady Tigers, the 2007 Division III National Champions.
At Lutheran South, she was a three-sport varsity athlete in softball, basketball and track. She competed at the state level in basketball and earned six state medals in track.
