The Kiwanis Club of Crestwood-Sunset Hills held a special meeting earlier this month and welcomed guests and prospective new members to learn more abut the club’s mission of serving children in the community and beyond.
During the recruitment meeting June 8, visitors learned about the history of the Crestwood-Sunset Hills Club, which was founded in 1963. The club meets at noon every Thursday at the Rich and Charlie’s restaurant in Crestwood, 9942 Watson Road. Each meeting features a guest speaker and updates on club activities.

In addition to its weekly meetings, the club holds annual fundraising events, and participates in service projects and student service clubs in Lindbergh Schools. The club’s Major Gift grant program provides local childrens nonprofits with capital improvements. In 2022, the club awarded $15,000 in Major Gifts grants and $10,000 in contributions to other local charities. The group also awarded two scholarships to Lindbergh High School graduates.
