The Green Park Board of Aldermen voted unanimously to reappoint Ward 3 Alderman Joe Monteleone as President of the Board of Aldermen at its May 20 meeting.
The process began with Ward 2 Alderman Tammy Witzig nominating Ward 3 Alderman Marty Finn. Ward 1 Alderman Michael Broughton seconded the nomination, though due to Finn working full-time, he declined to accept as he currently has too much on his plate.
Next, Broughton volunteered for the position, though he failed to receive any seconds. Witzig then nominated Ward 1 Alderman Carol Hamilton, though she also failed to receive a second.
After some conversation, Monteleone re-volunteered for the position. To follow proper procedure, Finn officially nominated his co-alderman of Ward 3. Witzig seconded the nomination, and the board subsequently voted 6-0 to appoint Monteleone to the position.
