On the night of Dec. 20, at approximately 9:30 p.m., officers from the St. Louis County Police Department responded to a call about a shooting at the Americas Best Value Inn in Affton, located at 6602 S. Lindbergh Blvd.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers found one man dead. He was identified as Jason Manes, 47, of Imperial, Missouri. After a preliminary investigation, detectives discovered that Manes had been in an altercation with a woman before the shooting; the woman was taken into custody and interviewed.Â
