Hancock Place School District will host its seventh annual Blake Snyder Memorial Community Coat Giveaway on Nov. 15. The giveaway, which aims to keep families warm as temperatures continue to drop into the winter season, will take place from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Hancock Elementary School, 9101 S. Broadway, or until supplies run out.
The giveaway will include coats, as well as socks, gloves, hats, hygiene items and school supplies. For the first time this year, free food will be available for families. This event is in honor of Blake Snyder, an officer with the St. Louis County Police Department, who was shot and killed on the line of duty in October 2016.
