The Green Park Board of Aldermen passed a resolution approving a preliminary development plan for a marijuana dispensary at 5600 S. Lindbergh Blvd. – the site of the former Regions Bank on the corner of Lindbergh Boulevard and Tesson Ferry Road – at its Jan. 21 meeting.
The resolution, submitted by Organic Remedies MO, Inc., passed by a vote of 4-1. Ward 2 Alderman Ron Slattery voted opposed, while Ward 1 Alderman Carol Hamilton, Ward 2 Alderman Tammy Witzig and both Ward 3 Aldermen – Joe Monteleone and Marty Finn – voted in favor. Ward 1 Alderman Michael Broughton did not vote as he was absent.
It should be noted that the city has a restriction on how close marijuana dispensaries can be to each other, maintaining that there must be 1,000 feet between locations. Organic Remedies MO, Inc. – who does business as “CODES Dispensary” – currently operates another dispensary at 11420 Concord Village Ave., just 800 feet from the proposed site. If the final development plan for the new dispensary is approved at Green Park’s February meeting, the existing CODES will close before the new CODES opens.
