Great Rivers Greenway is hosting its Life Outside Challenge this month and next, with an event Saturday at Cliff Cave Park.

The Great Rivers Greenway Life Outside Challenge is a free, fun way to get outside and try new things on one of the region’s 128 miles of greenways.

Everyone who completes at least 10 challenges and submits the online activity form will get an outdoor adventure prize. They will also be entered into a random drawing for one of five grand prizes from area outdoor retailers like the Alpine Shop or Big Muddy Adventures.

Participants do not need to sign up or register to get started. Visit livelifeoutside.org to see the list of 20 possible challenges.

Some of the challenges include:

• Walk for 20 minutes

• Pick up 20 pieces of trash

• Follow a bug along a greenway

• Take a selfie with a greenway sign

There are also two upcoming, free Life Outside Challenge Meetups on area greenways, including Saturday, April 30, at Cliff Cave, so people can complete multiple challenges in one day. Activities will include cell phone nature photography, guided walking tours, children’s book readings, yoga classes, and nature crafts.

The April 30 meetup on the Mississippi Greenway at Cliff Cave Park, 806 Cliff Cave Road, is from noon to 3 p.m. The event is free, but registration is required at livelifeoutside.org.
