Residents should expect periodic lane closures and an impact to traffic on Watson Road between Brookview Drive and Pardee Lane, beginning the week of May 25. The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) is working on a bridge replacement for the bridge that goes over Gravois Creek at that location.
According to the City of Crestwood, with weather and staffing permitting, the bridge replacement should be completed by September. Preliminary work is already underway. Crestwood reminds residents that construction schedules are subject to change.
Drivers who use Watson Road can expect traffic to shift to the center lanes as the outer portions of the bridge are constructed. Once those outer portions are complete, traffic will shift to the newly constructed outside lanes while construction crews complete the center lanes on the bridge.
This bridge replacement is part of a larger MoDOT project meant to improve Missouri Route 366 between Geyer Road and the St. Louis city limits. The project began in 2024 and will continue through 2027.
In the future, Crestwood residents might notice changes to Watson Road. This includes sidewalk replacements this summer and the summer of 2027; traffic signal replacements starting this summer; median and curbing improvements, with most median improvements tied to the bridge replacement project; resurfacing east of the Gravois Creek bridge; and Metro bus stop improvements, including concrete pads for benches and shelters.
