The Crestwood Park 9-hole disc golf course will have an official opening celebration Sept. 29 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Crestwood Park, 9724 Meadowfern Drive.
There will be a DJ, a food truck, giveaways and skill demonstrations. The event is free and open to the public.
The new disc golf course is behind Long Elementary School, along Eddie and Park Road. According to Mayor Scott Shipley, Crestwood, in partnership with the St. Louis Disc Golf Club, spent more than a year on the layout of the course with safety and simplicity as the driving force. The course was installed based on receiving many requests during multiple Parks Master Plan discussions over the years.
