Four members of Assumption Parish Boy Scout Troop 169 recently were presented with the rank of Eagle Scout during a Court of Honor ceremony at the parish.
The four presented the rank of Eagle at the May 4 ceremony were Trevor Vogan, son of Rich and Rose Vogan; Tommy Haferkamp, son of Jim and Sue Haferkamp; Brad Mertens, son of Rhonda and Andy Thiem and Mark and Debbie Mertens; and John Thompson, son of Mike and Michelle Thompson.
Trevor, 16, a junior at Vianney High School, designed and built a retaining wall around the Assumption Parish sign in front of the church on Mattis Road.
Tommy, 18, a senior at CBC High School, designed and built wooden protective enclosures around concrete pillars and two sand box enclosures for an outdoor play area at St. Paul’s United Church Day Care.
Brad, 16, a sophomore at Vianney, de-signed and built shelving components for the Assumption Funeral Luncheon workers storage closet at Assumption Parish.
John, 15, a freshman at Vianney, designed and built a retaining wall around a planter bed at the main entry to the church.
