Former alderman files in Crestwood, three file for two Mehlville board seats

Three more candidates — one in Crestwood and two in the Mehlville School District — have thrown their names into the race for the April 3 election.

In Crestwood, Tim Trueblood, 943 Gillespie Blvd., has filed for Ward 2.

Robert Deutschmann, 9700 Twincrest Drive, also filed for Ward 2, the seat currently held by Steve Knarr. The seat will have a one-year term.

Trueblood served as a Crestwood Ward 2 alderman from 1993 to 2006 when he became ineligible to seek reelection because of term limits.

Four additional aldermanic seats are up for election on three-year terms. Seats held by Darryl Wallach of Ward 1, Chris Pickel of Ward 2, Paul Duchild of Ward 3 and Deborah Beezley of Ward 4 will be up for election in April.

Filing so far are Duchild in Ward 3 and Dan Tennessen, 12142 Lowill Lane, and Steve Nieder, 9131 Cherry Brook Lane, in Ward 4. Nieder served as an alderman from 2006 to 2009.

In Grantwood Village, Chairwoman Cathy Forand and Village Clerk Pat Williams have filed.

In Green Park, aldermanic seats held by Carol Hamilton, Jackie Wilson and Fred Baras will be up for election.

All of the Green Park seats carry two-year terms. Filing so far are Hamilton, Wilson and Baras.

In Sunset Hills, the mayoral seat held by Bill Nolan will be up for election April 3. Aldermanic seats held by Frank Hardy of Ward 1, Tom Hrastich of Ward 2, Stephen Webb of Ward 3 and Claudia Svoboda of Ward 4 also will be up for election.

All of the Sunset Hills seats carry two-year terms.

Filing so far are Nolan for the mayoral post, along with Hardy for the Ward 1 aldermanic seat and Hrastich for the Ward 2 aldermanic seat. Also, Richard Gau, 13019 Tapawingo Place, filed for the Ward 1 aldermanic seat while former Mayor Mike Svoboda, 10231 Kennerly Road, has filed for the Ward 4 aldermanic seat currently held by his wife.

Besides the municipal seats, seats on both the Lindbergh and Mehlville boards will be up for election April 3.

In Lindbergh, seats held by Ken Fey and Mark Rudoff will be up for election.

Candidates filing so far are James Goss, 11681 Rossmoor Lane; Karen Schuster, 31 Sappington Acres Drive; and Kate Holloway, 11043 Rambling Oaks Drive.

In Mehlville, Verbal J. Blakey, 6063 Cardinal Creek Drive, and Mike Wainz, 3508 Hidden Stone Court, have filed.

Seats held by Tom Diehl and Ron Fedorchak will be up for election.

Fedorchak, who was appointed to the board to fill a vacancy when former board member Micheal Ocello resigned, has filed.

The Lindbergh and Mehlville seats carry three-year terms.

Candidates can file through 5 p.m. Jan. 17.
