Filing will begin Tuesday for April 5 election

Filing for municipal, fire protection district and school board elections that will be conducted April 5 will begin at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 14.

Mayoral and aldermanic seats are up for election in the cities of Crestwood and Green Park, and aldermanic seats are up for election in Sunset Hills.

Filing for the April election is scheduled to close at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18.

In Crestwood, Mayor Tom Fagan said he will seek re-election after winning election in August to fill the remaining term of former Mayor Jim Robertson, who resigned in January.

The mayoral post carries a three-year term.

Also, the Ward 4 aldermanic seat currently held by Joseph O’Keefe is up for election. He was appointed in August to fill the seat previously held by Fagan.

The election will determine who will serve the remainder of Fagan’s term to 2006. Normally, the seat would carry a three-year term.

Filing will be conducted at the Crest-wood City Hall, 1 Detjen Drive.

In Green Park, the mayoral post currently held by Steve Armstrong is up for election.

The mayoral post carries a two-year term.

Also up for election are aldermanic seats held by Judy DeWitt of Ward 1, Chuck Deters of Ward 2 and Mark Hayden of Ward 3.

The aldermanic seats carry a two-year term.

Candidates can file at the Green Park City Hall, 11100 Mueller Road, Suite 2.

In Sunset Hills, seats held by Ward 1 Al-derman Michael Sawicki, Ward 2 Alder-man John Littlefield, Ward 3 Alderman Jan Hoffman and Ward 4 Alderman Donald Parker are up for election.

The seats carry two-year terms.

Candidates can file at the Sunset Hills City Hall, 3939 S. Lindbergh Blvd.

In the Mehlville Fire Protection District, two seats on the Board of Directors will be up for election.

The seat currently held by Chairman Tom O’Driscoll, which carries a six-year term, will be up for election.

Also up for election is the seat currently held by Secretary David Gralike, which carries a four-year term.

Gralike was appointed to the Board of Directors in 2003 to fill the seat vacated by the late Joe Gaterman, a former MFPD chief who lost his battle with cancer shortly after being elected to the board in April 2003.

Candidates can file at the Mehlville Fire Protection District headquarters, 11020 Mueller Road.

In the Lindbergh School District, Board of Education seats held by President Mark Rudoff, Vice President Barry Cooper and Katie Wesselschmidt are up for election.

All three have said they intend to seek re-election.

The seats carry three-year terms.

Candidates can file at the district’s Administration Building, 4900 S. Lindbergh Blvd.

In the Mehlville School District, Board of Education seats held by President Cindy Christopher, Vice President Matthew Chellis and Secretary Marea Kluth-Hoppe are up for election.

The seats carry three-year terms.

Candidates can file at the district’s Administration Building, 3120 Lemay Ferry Road.
