Eugene and Irene Schmidt celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last month. The couple was married May 4, 1968 at St. Mary’s Assumption Church in St. Louis. They are both retired. Mr. and Mrs. Schmidt are the parents of three children: Karen (Jeff) Gregory, Steve (Gena) Schmidt and Christina (Bobby) Russell. The couple live in Oakville and have six grandchildren.
