Emerson Electric honored over 100 educators – from kindergarten teachers to college professors – in the St. Louis metropolitan area for its 35th annual Excellence in Teaching Awards program.
Each year, the program recognizes instructors throughout the St. Louis area who have been selected by their school administration for an exceptional dedication to their students and school community. Among the over 100 educators recognized were six South County teachers.
All honorees receive an engraved crystal apple and a certificate recognizing their achievements.
Courtney Duffy, math specialist at Bayless Elementary School and winner of the St. Louis regional Teacher of the Year award; Jenni Dittrich, second-grade teacher at Hancock Place Elementary School; Anne Meyer, fourth-grade teacher at Gotsch Intermediate School and Affton School District’s 2024-25 Teacher of the Year; Tim Waters, third-grade teacher at Long Elementary School and St. Louis regional Teacher of the Year semifinalist; Brian Lind, director of campus life and science teacher at Lutheran South High School; and Stephanie Bailey, fifth-grade teacher at Hagemann Elementary School, were all honored.
“The work of an educator can have a lasting impact on a student,” Akberet Boykin Farr, vice president of human resources – corporate functions at Emerson, stated in a press release. “When a teacher is committed to fostering their students’ passions for learning and empowering them to become the best versions of themselves, that person deserves the utmost recognition … Congratulations on this much-deserved recognition.”
