Ed Ryan took his fourth oath of office to serve on the Mehlville Fire Protection District Board of Directors at the board’s May 1 meeting.
Ryan, first elected in 2007 and most recently reelected in the April 8 election, will serve on the board for another six years. In the most recent general municipal election, Ryan defeated challengers Fred Baumgarth and Steven Mossotti by receiving 56.1% of the community’s votes, while Baumgarth and Mossotti received 11.7% and 32.2%, respectively.
Ryan’s latest term expires in April 2031.
“Can you believe it’s been 20 years, MaryAnn?” Aaron Hilmer, MFPD board chairman, asked Ryan’s wife. “I can’t wait to twist his arm in 2031 (to run again).”
Editor’s note: This article ran in the May 8 print edition of The Call with a headline stating that Ryan was sworn in for his sixth term, as opposed to his fourth six-year term. Ryan won his fourth term on April 8.
