Crestwood to offer a Citizens Academy

Crestwood to offer a Citizens Academy

The city of Crestwood is hosting the Crestwood Citizens Academy, a free six-week program that teaches residents of Crestwood how local government works.

Classes will be held  from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesdays, July 11 through Aug. 15. Citizens Academy will cover topics including administration, planning and economic development, emergency medical service, parks and recreation and more.

“We want residents to come away with a better understanding of how decisions are made, how city funds are allocated, and how each department operates,” City Administration Kris Simpson said in a news release.

The courses will include tours, demonstrations, a question-and-answer session and educational discussions to help participants better understand city services and current projects. The classes are open to any Crestwood resident or business owner over 18 years of age.

Pre-registration is required by July 2. To register, contact (314) 729-4712 or sbelcher@cityofcrestwood.org.
