Crestwood mayor announces city administrator search committee

Crestwood Mayor Jeff Schlink announced the formation of a search committee for a new city administrator at a Board of Aldermen meeting tonight — Tuesday.

Schlink said Ward 3 Alderman Paul Duchild, Ward 1 Alderman Mimi Duncan and Ward 4 Alderman Dan Tennessen will comprise the committee. Duchild is the current board president. Duncan is the most recent, former board president.

Tennessen was elected to the board in April, defeating Steve Nieder, to replace Deborah Beezley, who did not file for re-election.

Former City Administrator Petree Eastman departed from her post March 9 after roughly five months with the city. The Board of Aldermen reached a settlement agreement with Eastman regarding her separation from the city in May.

Eastman was Crestwood’s first female city administrator. She served as University City’s assistant city manager from April 2007 until June 2010. As city administrator, Eastman was paid $98,000 annually.

Since Eastman’s departure, Fire Chief Karl Kestler has served as acting city administrator. The board voted in March to pay Kestler $1,500 per month in additional compensation for his duties as acting city administrator.
