Crestwood citizen Chuck Ashley was recognized by the Crestwood Fire Department at the Board of Aldermen meeting last month for his actions Dec. 30, when he warned a Roger Lee Lane resident about smoke coming from their home.
“Mr. Ashley reacted immediately and banged on the door, notifying the owner to evacuate. She evacuated safely and no one was injured,” Fire Chief Lou Hecht said. “Had Mr. Ashley not responded as he did and not notified the resident, there certainly could have been a different outcome.”
Hecht presented Ashley with the Honorable Effort Award at the July 27 board meeting, above.
