The new and returning officeholders in St. Louis County were set to be sworn in at noon Tuesday, Jan. 1 — after the Call went to press.

In a change from tradition, the ceremony was set to happen outdoors at Memorial Plaza outside the county Administration Building and Police Department.

County Executive Steve Stenger was set to take the oath for a second term in office, along with newcomer Wesley Bell taking office as prosecuting attorney.

County Assessor Jake Zimmerman was set to be sworn in for his third term.

The County Council will get two new members, both of whom represent parts of south county: 3rd District Councilman Tim Fitch, R-Fenton, and 5th District Councilwoman Lisa Clancy, D-Maplewood. And 7th District Councilman Mark Harder, R-Ballwin, will take the oath for a second term in office. Photos by Erin Achenbach.
