The St. Louis County Planning Commission will hold two public hearings at its meeting Monday.
The Planning Commission meets at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 9 in the County Council chambers at the government center in Clayton, 41 S. Central Ave.
Both proposals are in the 6th County Council District.
The first petition on the agenda is a request for amended C-8 zoning from Chris and Angela Courtwright, who operate More For Less, a remodeling company. The proposed use is for equipment and appliance sales and repairs, as well as warehousing, in the existing building on a .53 acre tract at 9928 Gravois Road, at the corner with Consul Avenue. The 4,843-square-foot building was the former Affton Southwest Precinct headquarters for the St. Louis County Police Department. The station was closed in 2018 due to mold problems in the building and the precinct’s new location is currently under construction down the road on Gravois.
The other hearing on the Oct. 9 agenda is for Dogwood Social House, which was postponed from the commission’s September public hearing.
The restaurant is proposing a new location at 6303 S. Lindbergh Blvd., at the corner of Lindbergh and Concord Road. Real Estate Partners X, LLC is requesting amended C-8 zoning for all C-3 Shopping District permitted uses, including a 28,700-square-foot Dogwood Social House, 22,575-square-feet of additional retail space and a multilevel self-storage facility with a 39,300-square-foot footprint.
The proposed location is the site of the former Weekends Only store that closed earlier this year.
In addition to converting the Weekends Only space, the proposal also calls for two new outbuildings fronting Lindbergh – a 3,400-square-foot bank as well as a 6,500-square-foot restaurant.
Dogwood Social House, which originated in Cape Girardeau, has one location in St. Louis County in Ellisville, as well as locations in O’Fallon, Missouri, and O’Fallon, Illinois. The restaurant offers a mix of entertainment and games, such as axe throwing, corn hole, table games and others depending on the location. The proposed location in South County would include eight pickleball courts, according to the Oct. 9 agenda.
