The St. Louis County Department of Transportation is holding the second of its two public meetings tonight about a proposed roundabout at the Yaeger Road and Milburn Road intersection in Oakville.

The meeting will be held virtually from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 16.

Access the meeting at www.stlouiscountymo.gov/ st-louis-county-departments/transporta-tion-and-public-works/active-construc-tion-projects/yaeger-milburn-round-about-ar-1860/.

The project, named “Project AR-1860,” will turn the four-way intersection into a one-lane roundabout. The scope of work includes the addition of Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant curb ramps and sidewalks, including a sidewalk extension on the northeast quadrant that will connect Yaeger Circle Drive to Milburn Road.

According to the transportation department, the Yaeger-Milburn intersection crash rate is among the 10 highest in the county, with 48 crashes between 2017 and 2020, 10 of those with injuries. A roundabout is expected to reduce crashes by 40%, improve congestion and reduce delays at the intersection.

The anticipated cost of the project is $2.296 million, which includes $1.609 million in federal funding.

Property rights acquisition is expected in late 2024- 2025. The project will go out to bid in spring 2026, with construction expected to begin in 2027.
