Christmas in Crestwood celebrates 10 years

Christmas+in+Crestwood+celebrates+10+years

Santa Claus is coming to Crestwood to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Christmas in Crestwood.

The festivities kick-off Friday with a “Holiday Scramble Contest.” From Nov. 24 through Sunday, Dec. 31, visit a participating local business and search for an ornament with a single letter on it. Make a note of the letter and do the same at the rest of the businesses on the list. Arrange the letters to make a phrase and submit the answer to CrestwoodContest@gmail.com.

The winner of the contest will be announced on Jan. 2. The prize will contain items donated by the Christmas in Crestwood organization, with an emphasis on local business. See a list of businesses at christmasincrestwood.org.

The main attraction of this year’s festivities is the Santa Car Cruise on Saturday, Dec. 2. At noon, the car cruise, led by the big man himself, will depart from city hall, 1 Detjen Drive, 63126, and cruise around the city. The full route will be available on the Christmas in Crestwood website.

After the car cruise, from 1 to 3:30 p.m., St. Raymond-St. Elizabeth Church, 1420 Sappington Road, is hosting “Winter Wonderland.” Different Winter Wonderland activities include professional photos with Santa, professional balloon artists, face painters and goodie bags for the first 200 children.

The day culminates with a fireworks show at the church at 6:30 p.m.
