In an effort to “maintain transparency and increase public knowledge,” the St. Louis County Charter Commission will host a series of public forums:
● Wednesday, Sept. 18 at 6 p.m. in the County Council Chambers, 41 S. Central.
● Saturday, Sept. 21 at 1 p.m. at Jefferson Barracks Visitor’s Center, 345 North Road.
● Wednesday, Sept. 25 at 6 p.m. at Manchester Justice Center, 200 Highland.
● Saturday, Sept. 28 at 9 a.m. at North County Rec. Center, 2577 Redman Ave.
The major items under consideration are changing the Charter to allow a county manager form of government, having nonpartisan elections, having an elected county auditor, having an appointed county assessor, and having minimum standards for municipal police departments.
