Chamber forms economic development panel

The Crestwood-Sunset Hills Chamber of Commerce has formed an Economic Development Committee comprised of business representatives and notable citizens in both cities.

“The mission of this committee is to act as a voice between the business community and the local governments, carrying the message of the needs and concerns of the business community back to the two cities,” according to a release from the chamber. “Further, the committee is dedicated to ensuring that new business is attracted to our community and is fully educated on the processes necessary to bring a business from a dream to fruition.”

Besides the committee, the chamber is asking residents and businesses to fill out surveys, which can be found at the chamber’s Web site at

The Web site features a brief business survey and a residential survey to gather information on shopping habits and residents’ needs.

The chamber asks those who do not have access to its Web site to call the chamber’s office at (314) 843-8545 to obtain a copy of either survey.

Completed surveys can be mailed to the Crestwood-Sunset Hills Chamber of Commerce, 9058-A Watson Road, St. Louis, Mo., 63126 or faxed to (314) 843-8526.

Survey results will be reported to local governments and made public in an open forum to be scheduled in early 2009 in both Crestwood and Sunset Hills.
