Great Rivers Greenway is hosting a celebration Saturday of the completed expansion of the Meramec Greenway at the Interstate 44 bridge.

The event celebrates the new greenway expansion that was built along the I-44 bridge over the Meramec River, and connects greenway users to Emmenegger Nature Park, Unger Park, Fenton City Park, Olde Towne Fenton and George Winter Park.

The event will take place at Emmenegger Park, 11991 Stoneywood Drive, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, June 24. There will be live music from John Jarrett Music, free snacks from Kona Ice and TreauX’s Cajun BBQ, as well as activities for the whole family.

Parking will not be available at Emmenegger Park for the event. Parking is available at Fenton City Park, 1215 Larkin Williams Road. A free shuttle will run between Fenton City Park and Emmenegger during the event from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

A foot/bike “greenway fun parade” will also leave Fenton City Park at 9 a.m.
