Candidate filing will begin Tuesday for April elections

Candidate filing continues until 5 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21

Candidate filing for the Tuesday, April 7, elections will begin next week.

Filing for municipal and school-board seats will begin at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16, and will continue through 5 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20.

Aldermanic seats are up for election in Crestwood, Green Park and Sunset Hills. In addition, Green Park Mayor Bob Reinagel’s seat is up for election.

Three seats on the Grantwood Village Board of Trustees are up for election.

Seats on the Lindbergh and Mehlville schools boards are up for election, as well as a seat on the Mehlville Fire Protection District Board of Trustees.

In Crestwood, aldermanic seats held by Darryl Wallach of Ward 1, Tim Trueblood of Ward 2, Paul Duchild of Ward 3 and Mike Vincent of Ward 4 are up for election. The seats carry three-year terms.

Wallach and Duchild first were elected in 2009, while Vincent was appointed to the board in April to fill the unexpired term of Dan Tennessen, who resigned in February.

Vincent previously served on the board from 1990 to 1994.

Trueblood served as a Ward 2 alderman from 1993 to 2006, when he was ineligible to seek re-election due to term limits. He was elected to the board again in 2012.

In Grantwood Village, Board of Trustees seats held by Chairman Kevin Kelso, Streets Commissioner Mark Kienstra and Building Commissioner Bob Bess are up for election. The seats carry two-year terms.

Kienstra first was elected to the board in 2011. Both Bess and Kelso initially were appointed to unexpired terms on the board.

Bess was elected to a full two-year term in 2011, and Kelso was elected to a full two-year term in 2013.

In Green Park, Reinagel’s mayoral seat is up for election. He was appointed to the post after the resignation of former Mayor Tony Konopka in 2012 and elected to a full two-year term in 2013.

Aldermanic seats held by Tony Pousosa of Ward 1, Tim Thuston of Ward 2 and Joe Monteleone of Ward 3 are up for election.

The seats carry two-year terms.

Pousosa and Thuston have served on the board since 2007. Monteleone was appointed to the board in 2010 and won election to the seat in 2011 and 2013.

In Sunset Hills, aldermanic seats held by Dee Baebler of Ward 1, Scott Haggerty of Ward 2, Jan Hoffmann of Ward 3 and Pat Fribis of Ward 4 are up for election. The seats carry two-year terms.

Hoffmann has served as an alderman since 1991. Fribis was appointed to the board in 2008 and won election in 2009. Haggerty also was elected to the board in 2009.

Baebler was appointed to the board in 2010 and won election in 2011.

Seats held by Kate Holloway and Karen Schuster are up for election on the Lindbergh Board of Education. The seats carry three-year terms.

Holloway and Schuster, who serves as board secretary, first were elected in 2012.

Seats held by Katy Eardley and Ron Fedorchak are up for election on the Mehlville Board of Education. The seats carry three-year terms.

Eardley first was elected to the board in 2012. Fedorchak, who serves as board president, was appointed to the board in June 2011 and won election in 2012.

A seat held by Bonnie Stegman on the Mehlville Fire Protection District Board of Directors is up for election. The seat carries a six-year term.

Stegman, who serves as board secretary, has served on the board since April 2005.

She won election that year to an unexpired term and was elected to a full six-year term in April 2009.
