Candidate filing ends for April 3 election

With the exception of two aldermanic seats in Crestwood, one aldermanic seat in Green Park and two aldermanic seats in Sunset Hills, municipal and school board incumbents will face challengers in the April election.

Filing for the April 3 election ended last week.

The number of aldermanic seats up for election, by city, are: Crestwood, four; Green Park, three; and Sunset Hills, four.

In addition, the post of mayor is up for election in Green Park.

Two seats on both the Lindbergh and Mehlville boards of education also are up for election April 3. One seat on the Mehlville Fire Protection District Board of Directors is up for election this spring.

Candidates filing for office are:

Crestwood

Aldermanic seats held by Richard Breeding of Ward 1, Jim Kelleher of Ward 2, Jerry Miguel of Ward 3 and Pat Duwe of Ward 4 are up for election. The seats carry three-year terms.

Due to term limits, Breeding and Duwe are ineligible to seek re-election.

Candidates filing include Harold “Mac” McGee, 9210 Arban Drive, 63126, in Ward 1; Danielle Oettle, 1320 Samoa Drive, 63126, and Steve Knarr, 1028 Banyon Drive, 63126, in Ward 2; Miguel in Ward 3; and former Alderman Bob Parsons, 9872 Amberley Drive, 63126, and John Foote, 8865 Glen Rose Drive, 63126, in Ward 4.

Green Park

Aldermanic seats held by Bob Reinagel of Ward 1, Chuck Deters of Ward 2 and Mark Hayden of Ward 3 are up for election. The seats carry two-year terms.

In addition, the mayoral post currently held by Steve Armstrong is up for election in April. The city’s mayoral post also carries a two-year term.

All four incumbents have filed for re-election.

In addition, John Schott, 10936 Suanis Court, 63123, and former Ward 2 Alderman Tony Konopka, 10721 Antrill Drive, 63123, have filed for mayor.

Two years ago, Armstrong defeated Schott for the mayoral post.

Tim Thuston, 9400 Green Park Road, has filed for the Ward 2 aldermanic seat currently held by Deters, and Anthony Pousosa, 9700 Antigo Drive, has filed for the Ward 1 aldermanic seat currently held by Reinagel.

Sunset Hills

Aldermanic seats held by Michael Sawicki of Ward 1, John Littlefield of Ward 2, Jan Hoffmann of Ward 3 and Donald Parker of Ward 4 are up for election. The seats carry two-year terms.

Candidates filing include Douglas McGuire Jr., 12501 Maret Drive, 63127, in Ward 1; Littlefield in Ward 2; Hoffmann and Wolfgang Volz, 11721 Doverhill Drive, 63128, in Ward 3; and Parker and Mike Svoboda, 10231 Kennerly Road, 63128, in Ward 4.

Lindbergh School District

Board of Education seats held by Robert Bader and Vic Lenz are up for election. The seats carry three-year terms.

Both Bader and Lenz have filed for re-election. Richard W. Meuser, 15 Toddington Terrace, 63128, and David L. Peek, 10205 Littie Road, 63126, also have filed.

Mehlville School District

Board of Education seats held by Tom Correnti and Rita Diekemper are up for election. The seats carry three-year terms.

Six candidates have filed: Larry Felton, 5949 Briarmist Place, 63128; Venki Pala-mand, 5385 Royal Hills Drive, 63129; Mark Carter, 5521 D Southfield Drive, 63129; Randy Lowry, 5527 Bellemeade Trail Court, 63129; Phil Black, 6160 Clifton Oaks Place, 63129; and Chris Brown, 5443 Butler Hill Estates Drive, 63128.

Mehlville Fire

Protection District

A seat on the Board of Directors held by Dan Ottoline Sr. is up for election. The seat carries a six-year term.

Ed Ryan, 10682 Hackamore Lane, 63128, and Jim Burdiss, 345 Greycliff Bluffs Drive, 63129, have filed.
