Filing ended last week for municipal seats, school-board seats and a seat on the Mehlville Fire Protection District Board of Directors up for election Tuesday, April 7.
The Green Park mayoral seat is up for election.
In addition, aldermanic seats are up for election in Crestwood, Green Park and Sunset Hills.
Two seats are up for election on both the Lindbergh and Mehlville boards of education along with one seat on the fire-district board.
Crestwood
Six of the eight seats on the Crestwood Board of Aldermen are up for election.
Three of those seats will have unopposed candidates.
In Ward 1, Mary Duncan will run unopposed for a one-year seat being vacated by Carol “C.J.” McGee, who did not file for election.
She was appointed in September after the death of her husband, Harold “Mac” McGee.
The one-year term on the board is to fill the remainder of Mac McGee’s term, which expires in April 2010.
Darryl Wallach will run unopposed for a three-year seat being vacated by Alderman Rich Bland, who did not file for re-election. Bland had defeated Wallach in 2006.
In Ward 2, board President Chris Pickel will run unopposed for a three-year term.
Alderman Mike Kelsch, Jeff Baker and Jeff Schlink will vie for a one-year term. Schlink ran unsuccessfully for the board in 2001, 2003 and 2004.
The seat held by Kelsch, who was appointed in May after former Alderman Steve Knarr resigned, is for the remainder of Knarr’s term, which expires in April 2010.
In Ward 3, Michael Argent, Paul Duchild and Jackie Bazzell filed for a three-year seat being vacated by Alderman Gregg Roby, who last week withdrew his name from candidacy.
In Ward 4, Alderman Steve Nieder and Debbie Beezley filed. The aldermanic seat carries a three-year term.
Green Park
The mayoral seat held by Tony Konopka is up for election. Filing were Konopka and Fred Hoehn, a former alderman who led the effort to incorporate the city.
In Ward 1 Alderman Anthony Pousosa filed for re-election and is unopposed.
In Ward 2, Alderman Tim Thuston and James Jones Jr. filed.
In Ward 3, Alderman Mark Hayden filed for re-election and is unopposed.
All seats in Green Park carry two-year terms.
Sunset Hills
In Ward 1, Alderman Doug McGuire and William Nolan Jr. filed.
In Ward 2, Alderman John Littlefield and Scott Haggerty filed.
In Ward 3, Alderman Jan Hoffmann filed for re-election and is unopposed.
In Ward 4, Alderman Pat Fribis and Stephen Shady filed.
All seats carry two-year terms.
Lindbergh school board
President Ken Fey and Secretary Janine Fabick both filed for re-election.
Because Fey and Fabick are the only candidates for two open seats on the board, no election will take place. Fey and Fabick will serve three-year terms.
Mehlville school board
Seats on the Mehlville Board of Education held by President Tom Diehl and Vice President Micheal Ocello are up for election.
The seats carry three-year terms.
The following candidates filed: Gary Brit Rose, Linda Mooy, William Klemm, Diehl and Ocello. Mooy ran unsuccessfully for the board in 2008.
MFPD board
A Mehlville Fire Protection District Board of Directors seat held by Treasurer Bonnie Stegman is up for election April 7.
Stegman, Donald H. Kaley and P.J. Polizzi filed. Brian Eldridge also had filed, but last week withdrew.
The seat carries a six-year term.
