Candidate filing concludes for April 2 election

Candidate filing for municipal seats and school board seats up for election Tuesday, April 2, concluded at 5 p.m. Tuesday.

Aldermanic seats are up for election in Crestwood, Green Park and Sunset Hills.

In addition, the Green Park mayoral post will be up for election, along with a seat on the Mehlville Fire Protection District Board of Directors.

In Crestwood, four aldermanic seats are up for election.

Seats held by Mimi Duncan of Ward 1, Bob Deutschmann of Ward 2, Jerry Miguel of Ward 3 and John Foote of Ward 4 are up for election.

The seats carry three-year terms.

Miguel is unable to seek re-election because of term limits. He is completing his third consecutive three-year term.

Richard Breeding, 9338 Arban Drive, has filed in Ward 1. Breeding is a former Ward 1 alderman who served from 1998 to 2007, at which time he was unable to seek re-election due to term limits.

In Ward 2, Bill Schelinksi, 600 Sessions Ave., and Mary Stadter, 546 Aspen Drive, have filed.

Bill Boston, 107 Flamingo Drive, and Grant Mabie, 7947 Camelot Lane, have filed for the Ward 3 seat.

Candidates filing in Ward 4 are Timothy Anderson, 9022 Sky Crest Drive; Mike Tsichlis, 9094 Doercrest Drive; Cindy Minor, 8831 Fox Park Drive; and Richard Rutledge, 11742 Parkshire Drive.

In Grantwood Village, three seats are up for election April 2.

Seats held by Chairman Mark Kienstra, 7365 Navarre Circle, Treasurer Kevin Kelso, 8800 Julia Dent Drive, and Building Commissioner Bob Bess, 7300 Whitehaven Drive, are up for election.

All three have filed. The seats carry two-year terms.

Also filing were Doug McCormick, 9034 Fernald; Steve Kohlberg, 1 Grantwood Lane; and Terry Humes, 2 Missionary Ridge.

Besides the mayoral post, three aldermanic seats are up for election in Green Park.

Bob Reinagel is serving as interim mayor.

He was appointed to the post after former Mayor Tony Konopka resigned last summer. Reinagel, 10957 Suanis Court, filed for the mayoral post.

Aldermanic seats held by Tony Pousosa of Ward 1, Tim Thuston of Ward 2 and Joe Monteleone of Ward 3 are up for election.

Pousosa, 9700 Antigo Drive, Thuston, 9400 Green Park Road, and Monteleone, 9423 Southtowne Farms Drive, filed for re-election.

All of the seats carry two-year terms.

In Sunset Hills, four aldermanic seats are up for election. Seats held by Dee Baebler of Ward 1, Scott Haggerty of Ward 2, Jan Hoffmann of Ward 3 and Pat Fribis of Ward 4 are up for election.

Baebler, 9347 Caddyshack Circle, and former Ward 1 Alderman Frank Hardy, 421 Rayburn Ave., filed. Haggerty, 9222 Saddlebrook Drive, Hoffmann, 12206 Robyn Road, and Fribis, 9843 Sunset Greens Drive, filed for re-election.

Also filing in Ward 4 was Larry Chorosevic, 10829 Forest Path Drive.

All seats carry two-year terms.

Board of Education seats for Lindbergh Schools and the Mehlville School District also are up for election.

In Lindbergh, seats held by board President Vic Lenz and board Treasurer Kara Gotsch are up for election.

Gotsch, 10716 Forest Circle Drive, and Lenz, 4628 Bridlewood Terrace, both filed for re-election. Adam McBride, 10119 Fite Circle, and Cindy McDaniel, 513 Oakwood Drive, also have filed.

In Mehlville, seats held by board President Venki Palamand and board Secretary Larry Felton are up for election. Palamand, 5385 Royal Hills Drive, and Felton, 5949 Briarmist Place, both filed for re-election.

Also filing was Lori Trakas, 3900 Butler Hill Road.

The school board seats carry three-year terms.

One seat on the Mehlville Fire Protection District Board of Directors, held by Ed Ryan, is up for election.

Ryan, 10682 Hackamore Lane, filed for re-election to the seat, which carries a six-year term. Also filing was Michael Klund, 560 Lind Road. Klund unsuccessfully challenged board Chairman Aaron Hilmer in the April 2011 election.
