Bierbaum Elementary School’s Smarika Dhakal was recently presented the Do the Right Thing Award from the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.

Smarika was recognized by the SMLPD for her kindness, empathy and leadership in welcoming a new student with limited English vocabulary into the school. Smarika helped her new friend navigate Bierbaum, communicate with others and participate in activities.
