The Crestwood Board of Aldermen unanimously approved a Conditional Use Permit for Taco Bell to operate at 9805 Watson Road at its meeting Sept. 14.
The location operated as a Jack In The Box from 1986 to 2020 and is surrounded by commercial properties on all sides.
Michael Palmer, the architect representing the site petitioners, said relatively nothing will change because the building is perfect for what Taco Bell is looking for. No new signage will be added, but the existing menu board will be replaced with a digital one per Taco Bell standards.
“(Taco Bell) would’ve liked us to knock (the building) down and build a whole new one, but that’s not practical because it’s a nice building, there’s nothing wrong with it,” Palmer said.
The next step for the site is to have its site plan reviewed next month by the Planning Commission.
