The Affton High School boys wrestling team won first place at the South Side Invitational tournament held Jan. 25 at St. Mary’s South Side Catholic High School.
In total, Affton scored 130.5 points, beating Parkway South – who finished second place – by a whopping 25.5 points.
On an individual level, the Cougars had several top finishers. Kyle Andres, Mercury Clark and Antonio Muyco each placed first; Blake Hand, Patrick Hofinger, Bao Mai and Nolan Straedey each placed second; and Joe Levinson and Toby Winkler both placed third.
Eleven other schools from around the area competed in the South Side Invitational tournament, including Hancock Place. The Tigers scored 40.5 points, earning them seventh place.
