Sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade classes at Abiding Savior Lutheran School recently observed the 11th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks with Capt. Dave Waser of the Mehlville Fire Protection District. Waser served in the immediate days following the attack at Ground Zero in New York City. His personal experiences and photographs were a poignant recognition of the tragedy to children, including sixth-graders who were the last generation born in a pre-Sept. 11, 2001, world, according to a news release.
