Aberdeen Village resident Gene Beatty marked his 102nd trip around the sun Wednesday, March 1, with a 102nd birthday celebration at Aberdeen Village in Kirkwood. Beatty, who is an independent living resident at the senior living community, is a former junior high and high school band director who grew up on a farm. One of his former students at Nipher Junior High School in Kirkwood is now a fellow resident at Aberdeen Village and celebrated Beatty’s birthday with his former teacher.
