Aunt Janet’s Iowa Ham
1 cup apple jelly, melted
2 tablespoons grated orange rind
4 lb boneless ham
½ teaspoon cinnamon
½ teaspoon dry mustard
Preheat oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit.
To make sauce: combine melted jelly with orange rind, cinnamon and mustard.
Place ham and about ¼ cup water in a roasting pan. Lightly score ham on fat side. Baste top and sides with about half the jelly mixture. Cover with foil and place in the oven. Bake approximately 50 minutes and then remove from the oven.
Turn oven up to 425 degrees Fahrenheit.
Remove foil and baste the ham with the other half of jelly mixture and return to the oven for 10 minutes or until the jelly mixture is bubbly.
Let rest for 15 minutes before carving.
This ham is moist, sweet and spicy. Absolutely delicious!
