Wind advisory issued through noon Saturday

The St. Louis County Office of Emergency Management and National Weather Service office in St. Louis has issued a wind advisory from midnight tonight to noon Saturday.

South winds from 15 to 20 mph can be expected, with gusts up between 40 and 50 mph.

Portions of east central, northeast and southeast Missouri are impacted, including St. Louis County and St. Louis city. Portions of southwest Illinois are also impacted.

Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects so all loose objects should be secured. Tree limbs could be blown down and may result in power outages.

Tall vehicles and vehicles with trailers should use extra caution when driving perpendicular to the wind.

Other affected counties in Missouri include Monroe, Lewis, Marion, Ralls, Pike, Lincoln, Warren, St. Charles, Franklin, Jefferson, Washington, St. Francois, Ste. Genevieve, Iron, Madison and Reynolds.
