Yost named co-chair of Mehlville committee

Resident Debbie Yost has agreed to serve as co-chair of the Mehlville School Dis-trict’s Long Range Planning Committee, according to an announcement by Deputy Superintendent Jane Reed.

Yost has been an active member of the committee since its inception in October.

Before volunteering to join the Long Range Planning Committee, she was a member of the district’s Early Childhood Task Force. Yost also is an adjunct professor at Webster University and co-founder of the 22q Family Network of Missouri, an outreach, support and education outlet for families and individuals with the most common chromosomal deletion, 22q.11.2.

As co-chair, Yost will work hand in hand with Reed in guiding the committee’s efforts over the next few months.

To date, the 26-member committee has developed a statement of beliefs, written a new mission statement, created three objectives and formulated 11 strategies to help the district set the “big-picture” agenda for the future.

The next order of business for the committee is to solicit community volunteers to serve on action teams that will develop action plans to help implement the 11 strategies.
